The Golden Ticket

    An experience I had that made my jaw drop was when four of my friends and I won a golden ticket. In explanation, I used to be on a dance team(had to quit for school). During my final year on the dance team, 2014-2015, four of my friends on the dance team and I went to a summer dance camp. We learned some choreography and put it together to make a routine. We practiced the routine and performed it at every performance the dance team did. When the dance competition was approaching, our coach said we could compete with the routine. The five of us worked extra hard during the week leading up to competition to perfect the routine and executed the routine very well, if I do say so myself. When it came to awards time, we received platinum, the highest award. Then came the time for judges' awards and golden tickets. Basically, the golden ticket is an invitation to the national championships. Anyway, when the routines that won golden tickets were being called out, our routine was called, and I was so shocked. I couldn't believe that our little routine that we put together was good enough to go to the national championships! My favorite part is that I was the one who got to go up and receive the ticket and invitation. It was so much fun, and I really enjoyed the exhilaration of being on the stage. It is unfortunate to say that we did not go to the championships because I quit the team, and it was in another state that was kinda far away. However, I still have the memories of it all, and I will definitely never forget the moment we won the golden ticket.
